Neiva Ribeiro, CONTRAF/CUT, Brazil

I have been a banker since I was 18 and I have been in the union movement as a leader since 2000.

A significant part of my life was dedicated to the union movement, which formed me as a woman, militant and citizen. The Union is a school. I was part of the Gender, Race and Sexual Orientation Commission of CONTRAF/CUT (National Confederation of Workers in the Financial Sector). I had the honor to inaugurate the 28 de Agosto College, as general-director, the first higher education institution created by a union entity. I was secretary of formation of the union under two administrations and, in this period, we created the courses of Gender Relations in the society, the Responsible Fatherhood course, great milestones for the advance of a more equal society, with shared relations.
